Participate!Who can attend?
Adults 21 years or older interested in spending a weekend outdoors, meeting new friends and learning new craft skills. You do not have to be a seasoned "crafter" in order to attend, and we welcome all levels! Those who attend should be comfortable sharing a bunkhouse, and prepared for a rustic camping experience. (No running water or electricity. Vault toilets. Bugs.) Craft-A-Way Camp is only for those who have been accepted. Spouses and significant others are welcome, but they must apply, be accepted, and pay separately. Sorry, no children or pets allowed. ***Craft-a-Way Camp is an inclusive, welcoming, and accepting pop-up community. We respect ourselves, others, and the differences between us. Please keep this in mind when deciding whether or not to be a participant of camp.*** What will we be doing? Learning new crafts, meeting new people, taking walks, morning yoga, singing around campfires, eating... the usual camp stuff but with almost constant making! What does Craft-A-Way Camp cost? 2018 camp costs $205.00. What does the cost cover? The cost covers all the workshop materials, instruction, lodging, and snacks. Can I attend just during the days and not sleep over? Because Craft-A-Way Camp is a community-building event, and more than just a crafting workshop, we require our campers to stay overnight and be present for the full 2 days. If you are not comfortable sleeping in close quarter bunk beds, roughing it and being adaptable to whatever the weather throws at us, this may not be the right event for you. Count me in! How do I sign up? The application can be found here. Applications will be open from May 7-21. We have a limited amount of spaces for Craft-A-Way Camp, and because of this, not everyone who applies to camp will get in. We try to strike a fair balance between returning campers and new ones each year. If you don't get in this year, please apply again for another year! Conversely, if you attended in the past, we can't guarantee you will get in this year. We will keep a waiting list for last minute spots that may open up. Acceptance notification emails will be sent out by May 25. Once accepted, be prepared to make your full payment for camp within one week. This is so we can ensure that all spots are filled.
